situation here at fort eustis. at the time- officials were told shots were fired by they didn't know where they were coming from or who pulled the trigger. this all started around 11:30. that's when a call from inside building 650, which is took place in the building but then learned it was actually outside. officials say 3 contractors were working on the roof of building 650 when they was gun fire. lockdown. 650 was cleared. officials found no evidence of any gun fire. there were no injuries or building damage. we're told this could have been a misunderstanding. "there is times weapons will be discharged and there is noises on the installation so a contractor who is not familiar with the military might have jumped to the conclusion"

weren't taken any chances. about an hour after the call came in the lockdown was lifted. officials still don't know if shots were actually fired. live at fort eustis. jason marks 10 on your side. now to newport news -- where police say they busted a meth-making operation in the middle of the night. it's the third bust of its kind in less than a week. 10 on your side's joe fisher is live on sydney place where police spent the morning investigating. joe. this is the home here behind me that police searched just after one o'clock this morning. no one is home now --- the man who lives here is now behind bars one neighbor tells me he moved in about six months ago --- and she's been very suspicous of what's been going down inside the home -- especially in the middle of the night.

newport news police and hazmat teams combed through the home. they were working inside and outside. officers say they found a meth-making operation in a shed in the rear of the home. both the home and shed have now been condemned. a neighbor tells us lights were often seen on inside the home throughout the night. there was also a lot of activity -- people coming and going from the home. super = sherri moore/neighbor ((c26 "they had strange little behaviors but i would have never imagined there brett/neighbor hits at :08 ((c40 4:00)) "nobody likes to think anything like this is going on in their neighborhood, but like later on i heard the the way they were dressing up to going in there it was a dangerous place to be going inside." this bust this morning comes after two others this week -- both on middlesex road.

accused of exposing himself to a woman in a portsmouth walmart parking lot. as we first reported at noon, the officers employment status has changed following our report. andy fox broke the story yesterday, and joins us from the newsroom. we are now being told the norfolk police officer internal police investigation is now on administrative duty. that is different than what we were told yesterday when we called about the officer accused of exposing himself here in the walmart parking lot on frederick blvd. he was on active duty yesterday, but that has changed and police say the administrative duty status is standard. the victim is only talking to ten and is devastated by what happen saturday. she says the suspect pulled in next to her car, got out with his genitals hanging out of his pants, then pushing against the window. he then left, she watched

his car in so he couldn't leave. the search started for the suspect, the victim had left, but was called back to the scene to identify the suspect. she does not want to be identified. sentenced to prison for the third time. a former local businessman gets time behind bars -- again -- after grieving families ordered headstones that he never delivered. investigative reporter chris horne has been following this case through four different cities in hampton roads. wasn't he already serving time? yes, and for edward prince this was his third sentencing, with one still remaining in a couple months. prince has pleaded guilty to felony fraud in portsmouth, virginia beach, norfolk, and today he was sentenced in chesapeake. prince came into the courtroom this morning in prison clothes. he's already serving fourteen months for three victims in virginia beach. judge marjorie arrington gave prince 21 more months, and he'll have to serve that after the virginia beach time. the prosecutor in the case called prince's actions "egregious" because he preyed on people who had suffered the loss of a loved one. pamela campbell assistant commonwealth's attorney -- he would tell them

nearly 2 billion dollars worth of road projects will break ground in the near future in hampton roads. this week two groups decided which roads will be built first and who will pay for it. 10 on your side's matt gregory has the latest. you can expect to see more of this in the near future. road projects across the region starting soon, but as it stands they won't be funded by new tolls. the hampton roads transportation planning organization has scheduled several projects over the next 6 years. the plans will widen i-64 on the peninsula from newport news past

i-64 and 264 interchange. while widening the -64 southside high rise bridge after that. the hampton roads transit accountabilty commission has fully funded these projects. paid through gas and sales tax as well as state and federal money. what else will you pay? kevin page /hrtac "we can use the available resources to construct those projects but not preclude tolling from future discussions or actions, but not have tolling connected to the reliability of the execution of that plan." in other words right now tolls won't be needed to fund these 6 projects. but that doesnt mean there wont be any new tolls. what about the 3rd crossing of the harbor? coming up at 6:15 i'll explain where that project stands im matt gregory 10 on your side. traffic troubles this morning in washington, d-c .

beltway closed for around two hours this morning after a tractor trailer overturned. the truck's cab crashed into the wall and crushed part of the cab. the truck's fuel and the contents of the trailer spilled onto both sides of the beltway. police say one person was seriously hurt. justice antonin scalia's body lies in repose in the great hall of the supreme court building. nearly a hundred of scalia's current and former law clerks lined the steps as supreme court police brought in his flag draped casket this morning. scalia's son father paul presided over a brief private ceremony for fellow justices and family members. here's a live picture from the supreme court as members of the public pay their respects. there's a funeral mass tomorrow followed by a private burial.
